Tombazzi joins the bank as an ASP regional liquidity senior product manager. In his new role he will manage the regional team resources and be responsible for delivering liquidity and investment management solutions across the Asia-Pacific.
He joins from JPMorgan Treasury Services, where he spent the last 10 years covering a number of different roles both in Asia as well as Europe.
Prior to this, he also held senior treasury positions at IBM and Kuwait Petroleum across Europe.
At HSBC Tombazzi reports to Stephan Levieux, head of product management, global payments and cash management Asia-Pacific.
Levieux says of the appointment: "The global credit crisis has put more focus among corporates for tight management of liquidity and to fully utilise their internal cash resources. This is why liquidity is an area where we are making significant investments."
HSBC provides cash management services to over 445,000 customers in Asia-Pacific. It offers a range of payments, receivables, accounts and liquidity management services through various channels including the internet. It also offers integrated transaction processing, with multi-currency settlement and clearing services.
