Bank of America Merrill Lynch has lured Loh Boon Chye to the bank to become the deputy president for Asia-Pacific and head of Asia-Pacific global markets.
Deutsche Bank’s CEO of Asia-Pacific, Rob Rankin, has been appointed co-head of corporate banking and securities and head of corporate finance based in London. Loh Boon Chye plans to leave the bank.
The appointment comes just 18 months after Rankin joined Deutsche Bank from UBS and underlines the strategic importance of Asia as a key growth driver for the bank.
The former UBS banker is appointed chairman of corporate finance for Asia and head of the corporate and investment bank in China, and will effectively replace Lee Zhang as Deutsche's top investment banker in China.
A former head of TMT at UBS, Roth takes on a new role as head of Asia general industries at Deutsche, rejoining his former boss who is now Asia-Pacific CEO at the German bank.
