AXA Hong Kong has bolstered its local business by bringing Veronica Wong to the firm. Joining from rival insurer Sun Life Financial, Wong takes on the role of general manager of institution business for AXA.
In the new role, Wong assumes responsibility for building the French firm's institutional and bancassurance business in Hong Kong. Additionally, AXA will also look to Wong to drive the development of this institutional business segment and implement distribution models. This segment of the job will include spearheading AXA's full range of protection, wealth management and retirement services that will be distributed to and through large institutions, including, but not limited to, banks.
Upon arriving at AXA Hong Kong, Wong reports to Mark Wilson, chief executive officer.
She crosses from Sun Life in Hong Kong where she was most recently the managing director of bancassurance and market development, developing a successful culture of bancassurance sales for the company and its partner bank.
Before the Sun Life role, she held several positions at Standard Chartered Bank including head of priority banking and head of marketing communication, branding and business intelligence.
