Barclays Capital has appointed Mark Christensen as a director and Asian illiquid credit trader. Based in Singapore, he will report to Ross Taylor, global head of illiquid credit trading in Barclays Capital's New York operations.
He comes to the firm from ANZ Investment Banking in Sydney where he spent 16-years in its credit trading team. Most recently, Christensen was head of domestic credit training and had previously held the position of senior vice president of ANZ Securities in New York, where he was responsible for the Australian bank's North American fixed income trading operation.
"Mark will be responsible for building out our high grade asset swap and illiquid credit trading capabilities in the Asian time-zone," says Barclay's Taylor. "His appointment will allow us to leverage the progress we've made in building our illiquid franchise into a new region, and strengthen our ability to meet our clients' demands globally in more complex credit products."
