Barnes joins Deutsche's structured trade team

David Barnes jumps ship from ANZ to become head of regional structured trade and export finance.
Deutsche Bank has poached David Barnes from ANZ and given him the title of managing director and head of regional structured trade and export finance. Barnes will continue to be based in Singapore.

Barnes will report globally to Klaus Michalak, the global head of structured trade and export finance, and regionally to Thomas DuCharme, regional head of global transaction banking for Asia ex-Japan.

DuCharme says: "David will be responsible for leading strategic growth in structured trade finance in Asia.ö

Barnes joined ANZ in Singapore in 2003 and was most recently regional head, South Asia for commodity and trade finance. Prior to that, he worked with UFJ, Tokai. Barnes started his career with Sumitomo Bank in London in 1982. He has worked in Asia for more than 11 years and has broad-based expertise in the structured area of trade where Deutsche is seeking to expand its presence.
