In a month of high profile appointments, BNP Paribas Peregrine has joined the party by gaining the signature of the widely respected Stewart Callaghan. He moves to the French investment bank from ABN AMRO and will take on the role of head of regional company research.
Callaghan's role will include regional coverage for BNPPP's non-Japan and Australia markets and he will work with around 40 analysts to enhance the bank's research scope and capabilities. He will report to Michael Bugel, head of Asia equities.
Since joining ABN in 1997, Callaghan has held the positions of head of Asia-Pacific research in Hong Kong and deputy head of global research in London. His experience also includes stints in the New Zealand treasury.
According to BNPPP, the hiring represents its commitment to further enhancing its research capabilities and follows the recent departure of Jeff Kung, the once-head of regional company research.
