Bank of America has brought in Richard Brown to take on the role of Asia sales executive and regional head for global treasury services (GTS). He takes on responsibility for the bank's cash management and trade services to multinational corporations, financial institutions, government and multi-lateral agencies in Asia.
He will be based in Hong Kong and report dually to Asia president Colm McCarthy and Mike Curran, corporate banking treasury services executive.
Reporting to Brown will be: Richard Linebaugh, Asia sales manager for multinational corporates and government agencies; Subin Subaiah, Asia sales manager for financial institutions; David Kim, Asia sales manager for local issuance/vendors and Manisha Upasani, Asia business support manager.
Brown shifts to BoA from Citigroup, where he has worked in a variety of roles for the past 18 years. Most recently, he was managing director and head of financial institutions for the Asia Pacific region.
In this guise, Brown held responsibility for business with financial institutions active in Asia and securities services activities regionally.
His Citigroup era began in Canada where we worked in M&A before running a number of business lines including funds and syndications, real estate, capital markets, transaction services, and financial institutions.
Brown has also held the title of chairman and president of Citibank Canada Securities Limited, a fully-licensed investment dealer. His CV also includes time with management consulting firm of McKinsey & Company.
Brown's arrival at BoA's GTS division is the latest in a slew of recent hires. Subaiah made the transition from Deutsche Bank to BoA in July of last year, while Linebaugh crossed over to Hong Kong from the firm's Singapore offices in May.
