Calyon transfers Julian Ostheim to Asia

Ostheim becomes head of acquisition and leveraged finance in the region, filling a vacancy left by the departure of Christophe Cerisier.
Calyon has appointed Julian Ostheim as head of acquisition and leveraged finance in non-Japan Asia, replacing Christophe Cerisier who left the bank in April.

Ostheim joins from CalyonÆs Frankfurt office where he has been an executive director in the leverage finance team for the past three years. In his new role, he will report to Sanjay Gupta and Pierre-Philippe Martin, co-heads of structured finance in Asia.

ôJulian's experience of the European LBO (leveraged buy-out) market is an excellent addition to the extensive experience of our Asian LBO team and will further enhance Calyon's franchise in the region,ö says Gupta.

Ostheim has spent most of his career working on leveraged finance in Europe and has experience in structuring transactions for a number of leading private equity funds. Before joining Calyon in 2004, he worked with HVB/Unicredit, Rabobank and JPMorgan.

Alongside Ostheim, Kenney Cheung joins the division as director from DBS Hong Kong where he was most recently vice president of syndicated finance, focusing on leveraged finance origination. As a chartered accountant, Cheung has more than 10 years experience in debt origination. He has also worked in project finance with SMBC and Citigroup.

Calyon is the corporate and investment banking entity of French bank CrTdit Agricole.
