Managing director of Moody's Investors Service in Australia and New Zealand since 1999, Jennifer Elliott, is transferring to New York where she assumes the role of chief human resources officer of Moody's Corporation. Her replacement in Sydney is Brian Cahill.
Cahill will be directly responsible for Moody's ratings and research operations in Australia and New Zealand, but will also continue as managing director of the Asia Pacific corporate finance group. Cahill has held this corporate finance role - which involves overseeing corporate finance ratings for the region outside of Japan - since April 2002.
Cahill joined Moody's Australia in 1996 and initially worked in its structured finance group. In 1998, he transferred to the corporate finance group, covering infrastructure and project finance ratings. Prior to his career at Moody's, he practiced law in London, New York and Sydney.
In another promotion at Moody's, Timothy See has been appointed senior credit officer and assumes responsibility for the Australian structured finance group - a position held by the departing Elliott.
Prior to joining Moody's, See worked for the Commonwealth Bank for more that 15 years, including six years in its securitization team. In that role, he was involved in the issuance and ongoing management of more than A$10 billion in RMBS along with a number of synthetic credit transactions.
