Citigroup named Sebastien Mailleux as its head of prime finance for the Asia Pacific region, replacing Angus Yang who has left the bank.
Based in Hong Kong, Mailleux will be responsible for prime services, equity finance, agency securities lending and delta one across the Asia Pacific region and Japan, according to a memo seen by FinanceAsia.
Mailleux joins Citi from BNP Paribas, where he was responsible for building an emerging markets delta one business in Europe, before relocating to Asia in 2009.
During his time in Asia, Mailleux worked across different areas of prime finance, delta one and equity derivatives, most recently as head of prime trading. Mailleux is an engineering graduate from the Ecole Centrale in Paris.
Mailleux will start in November. Paul Marchington, investor services sales head, stepped in as the interim head of prime finance.
