Citi has appointed Nattaphan Assavavisessivakul as the global bank's head of markets, Thailand.
Starting in August, Assavavisessivakul will be based in Bangkok, according to a May 29 media announcement from Citi.
Assavavisessivakul has been tasked with driving business growth and to lead the bank's markets’ franchise in Thailand, with a strategic and global approach. He will report to Sue Lee, Citi’s head of markets, Asia South, and to Fourth Narumon, Citi country officer and banking head, Citi Thailand. Narumon was previously in the Thailand markets role at Citi.
Assavavisessivakul, who has over 20 years of experience in banking and financial services, is joining from BNP Paribas, Thailand, where he led and managed the trading sales and treasury teams as head of global markets and ALM Treasury. He joined the French bank in June 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He also previously served as head of fixed income, commodities and currencies sales at Bank of America, Thailand. Assavavisessivakul started his career at KPMG Thailand specialising in business restructuring and financial modelling and reporting.
Narumon said in the announcement, “Thailand is a key market for Citi with increased global client flows into the country and increasing overseas investments by local asset managers. Our focus as the world’s leading cross border bank is to support and connect those flows for our clients.”
Lee added, “With Nattaphan’s wide network and proven track record, I’m confident that his leadership will further enhance how Citi Markets Thailand delivers on its mission to be the best bank for our clients.”
The appointment is subject to standard regulatory approvals.
