Global law firm Clifford Chance has welcomed new counsels in three of its six regional offices. The promotions of former associates Kenneth Leung, Eu Jin Chua and Angela Nobthai are effective immediately.
Leung assumes the title of counsel in the Hong Kong branch of Clifford Chance. Consistent with his former position as associate, Leung will continue to specialise and advise on issues including tax, pensions, employment and regulatory work in the Greater China region.
In the Shanghai branch, Chua has accepted a promotion to counsel. Within the litigation and dispute resolution arm of the practice, Chua now assumes greater responsibilities for restructuring, insolvency and dispute resolution. Chua will also continue advising clients on Mainland transactions.
Nobthai jumps from the associate to counsel level in the Bangkok practice and is a member of the corporate and securities team. She remains responsible for corporate structurings, takeovers, M&As, IPOs and securities and banking work.
According to Clifford Chance, the promotions are testament to a commitment to growing the firm's presence in Asia. "The new appointments demonstrates that we will continue to invest in the future of the firm in Asia and further enhance our position as a market-leading full service legal provider," states Jim Baird, regional manager partner, Asia.
