Cameron McKenna, a founder member of CMS, consisiting of eight international law firms, is strengthening it China team with the dispatch of Molly Riley and Luke Filei to its Bejing office.
Riley, the head of the firm's China practice and a fluent Mandarin and Cantonese speaker, has spent the last 10 years working in Hong Kong and China and has over 20 years experience in the international corporate sector. She has advised on joint venture M&A, restructuring, licensing agreements, securities and intellectual property. Riley was admitted to practice in New York in 1987 and Massachusetts in 1988. She has a BA from the University of California, an MA from Harvard and her JD from the Columbia University of Law.
Australian lawyer Filei, a China corporate specialist, joins Cameron McKenna from Simmond and Simmons, where he was senior associate in the Shanghai Office. His experience includes M&A, private equity, telecommunications, FDI, communications, and media. Like Riley, Filei posesses impressive Mandarin skills.
Filei has been in China for seven years and his areas of practice include construction, insurance, sports related branding and events projects.
In addition to the traffic in people, another firm from CMS, CMS Francis Lefebre, is to open an office in Shanghai. The new office will be joined by staff seconded from CMS Cameron McKennaƔand CMS Hasche Sigle, a German firm.
