Jasani, who is an internal transfer from Taipei, will be based in Mumbai where he will report to Ali Naqvi, Credit SuisseÆs head of research for Asia ex-Japan.
To his new role, Jasani brings 10 years of equity research experience. He joined Credit Suisse in 2005 and currently holds the role of head of research, Taiwan. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Jasani was head of equity strategy for non-Japan Asia at HSBC Securities for three years. His resume also includes stretches with CLSA Emerging Markets and SC Securities.
Jasani is expected to report for duty at Credit SuisseÆs Mumbai offices in September. His appointment comes as the bank is increasingly expanding both its focus and business scope in India. In January, it hired Mihir Doshi as managing director and head of its investment banking division. Doshi was poached from Morgan Stanley where he had spent the past 22 years.
Credit Suisse is also in the process of re-activating its brokerage and corporate advisory in India and recently opened a financial consultancy and advisory office in Mumbai to expand its on-the-ground wealth management business.
Credit Suisse will announce JasaniÆs replacement as head of Taiwan research in the near term and will be looking to ramp up its India research coverage going forward.
