CrTdit Agricole Indosuez Merchant Bank Asia Ltd (CAIMBAL) has appointed HK Liau as its new head of corporate finance. He has also been named managing director for origination and placement of primary equities in Indosuez W I Carr Securities.
Liau's priority will be to drive the new corporate finance division of the company in Singapore, targetting government and large corporations. He will focus on M&A and equity capital markets advisory services, as well as the primary issuance of equities through IWICS.
Bringing some 15 years experience with him, Liau was most recently with UK investment banking firm Cazenove, where he was managing director of its Singapore operation. Previously, he held senior positions at DBS Bank, NDC Merchant Bank, Morgan Grenfell Asia and Standard Chartered.
Liau will based in Singapore and will report to James Foo, senior country officer of CrTdit Agricole Indosuez and chairman of CAIMBAL.
CAIMBAL is a wholly owned subsidiary of CrTdit Agricole Indosuez which has been operating in Singapore for 96 years. CrTdit Agricole Indosuez is the wholesale bank of the CrTdit Agricole Group.
