Dave to head global markets for HSBC India

Hitendra Dave is appointed as sole head of global markets in India following the transfer of co-head Anand Krishnamurthy.
HSBC global banking and markets yesterday appointed Hitendra Dave head of global markets for India. Dave will be responsible for the growth of sales and trading, balance sheet management and the debt financing business in the country.

In July 2006, HSBC appointed Anand Krishnamurthy and Hitendra Dave as co-heads of global markets. At the time, Dave was head of the institutional sales team, responsible for the sale of fixed income, derivative and funding solutions to banks, real money managers and insurance companies. Krishnamurthy was recently appointed to the position of co-head of global markets for the Middle East and North Africa so Dave will now be the sole head of the India desk.

He will continue to report to Gordon French, HSBCÆs managing director, sales and regional treasury management, global markets (Asia Pacific), as well as to Tarun Kataria, a managing director and head of global banking and markets for India.

"The appointment of Dave shows the bank's determination to further explore business opportunities in this territory," French said in a written statement.

Dave joined the institutional sales team at HSBC in 2001 from Dresdner Bank where he looked after money market and investment books.

HSBC global markets specialises in foreign exchange, credit and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets, and comprehensive global, regional and domestic securities services. It offers services through a network of 87 treasury sites in more than 60 countries and territories worldwide.
