Indian issuer Coal India completed a $714m follow-on via Axis, ICICI, JM Financial, Kotak Mahindra, and State Bank of India in what is the largest Asia (ex Japan) ECM transaction this week.
Asia (ex Japan) Mining ECM volume stands at $1.9bn via 16 deals in 2018 YTD, down from $8.1bn via 34 deals in the same 2017 period and the second lowest YTD volume since 2013 ($1.0bn).
Goldman Sachs leads Asia (ex Japan) ECM market with $15.2bn, followed by Citi with $12.5bn and Morgan Stanley with $11.6bn

The largest deal of the week goes to Scenery Journey with $1.8bn proceeds via China CITIC, Credit Suisse, Haitong Securities, and UBS.
In Asia (ex Japan) International DCM, total 2018 YTD volume stands at $277bn compared to 2017 YTD ($325.7bn) in what was the largest YTD volume on record; on the other hand, 2018 YTD reached the largest number of issuances with 785 compared to 770 in 2017 YTD.
HSBC leads the Asia (ex Japan) international DCM league with $23.3bn. This is followed by Citi with $16.2bn and Standard Chartered Bank with $12.7bn.
