Activity in the equity capital markets reaches a 14-week high.

Equity Capital Markets

Activity in the equity capital markets picked up this week to a 14-week high of 41 issues raising a total of $5.6 billion. Morgan Stanley surges ahead in the league table ranking to take the top spot with $8.8 billion, overtaking China International Capital Corp on $8.5 billion. Goldman Sachs rounds out the top three with $7.6 billion.

Axis Bank's $714 million follow-on offering was the largest issue of the week and led by Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan.

Goldman Sachs also led Sesa Goa's $500 million convertible bond together with Morgan Stanley, which helped push both banks up a notch in the league table.

Deals scheduled to price next week include: Wynn Macau's $1.5 billion IPO led by Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley and UBS; Powerlong Real Estate Holdings' $529 million listing via bookrunners Goldman Sachs, ICBC and Macquarie Group; and a $407 million IPO for Yingde Gases Group led by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Debt Capital Markets

National Agricultural Cooperative Federation's $500 million bond was the sole trade of the week and led by BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, HSBC and J.P. Morgan. The league table rankings remain unchanged with Deutsche Bank leading the field on $6 billion followed by HSBC with $5.5 billion and Citi on $4.7 billion.
