Deutsche Securities has announced the appointment of Ryoji Musha as vice chairman and chief investment officer of its Tokyo offices. Musha was formerly chief equity strategist and this position will now be taken on by Mamoru Shimode.
In his capacity as vice chairman, Musha will work alongside chairman Toru Hashimoto. As chief investment officer, he will advice clients on asset allocation recommendations across yen-based asset classes.
In this role, he will also work closely with Deutsche's research and product teams to deliver broad-based analysis and comprehensive portfolios.
He first joined the organisation in 1997 under the Deutsche Morgan Grenfell umbrella. Musha's career also includes stints at Daiwa Securities as an equity analyst, which eventually led to a position as chief analyst and research director of the Daiwa Institute of Research, America. Following this role, he became a general manager of the equity research department of Daiwa Institute Research, Japan.
Shimode also joined Deutsche Morgan Grenfell in 1997 and like his predecessor, also worked at Daiwa Securities as an equity analyst.
