Deutsche Bank has appointed Martin Syquia as head of debt capital markets and corporate coverage for the Philippines. Syquia was previously at Barclays Capital in Hong Kong where he was responsible for Philippines coverage.
In his new role as vice president at Deutsche, Syquia will report regionally to Rahul Mookerjee and CH Tee, the Asian co-heads of DMC and corporate coverage. Locally, he will report to Enrico Cruz, the chief country officer and head of global markets at Deutsche's operations in the Philippines.
Commenting on the new hire, Cruz says, "I'm extremely pleased to have Martin on board and this will further strengthen our presence in the Philippines."
Mookerjee adds: "In Martin, we have a unique combination of true depth of relationships and regional multi-product experience. Deutsche has been at the vanguard of the development of the domestic as well as the cross-border capital markets in the Philippines over the last couple of years, and I am confident Martin will provide the leadership to widen and deepen our client franchise."
