Working closely with PT EDI Indonesia, an e-business provider, Deutsche Bank, through its db-direct internet solution can now cut the processing time and reduce the paper trail previously associated with PIB.
The main beneficiaries of the new import tax declaration solution will likely be the importers and freight forwarders in Indonesia. The main benefits will be a quicker turnaround time and increased processing accuracy.
ôDeutsche BankÆs solution was developed to address our clientsÆ need for a quick turnaround of PIBs in order to avoid demurrage payments,ö says Vivek Gupta, Deutsche BankÆs head of trade finance, Indonesia. ôThe tangible benefits to Deutsche BankÆs clients are convenience, as they need not make multiple visits to the bank, and a faster and more efficient administrative process. Another benefit to clients is online real-time access to the status of their PIBs which offers a quick overview of outstanding and processed items.ö
The new integrated solution relies heavily on DeutscheÆs db-direct internet solution, which is used mainly by clients to access account information and transaction services at any time, from any place. This platform also provides security through automatic encryption of all data transmissions and is a multi-lingual and multi-currency platform.
Prior to the rollout of its new solution, all documentations and PIB forms were manually processed, which ultimately led to time delays in the administrative process and the clearing of goods for importers.
Aside from working with Deutsche Bank on the new PIB system, PT EDI Indonesia also acts as the sole vendor and consultant to DGCEÆs electronic data system.
