Fung, who takes up his post immediately, was named director of e2-Capital's e2 Tech Advisory Group, which provides consulting and marketing services for companies seeking to expand into electronic commerce. Fung will direct the company's advisory subsidiaries and seek out potential technology partners.
Fung is the latest in a series of hires made by e2-Capital, which is headed by former investment banker SJ Wong. Wong built a reputation engineering back-door listings, including that of his own company, which gained entry to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange by agreeing to a HK$348 million ($44.7 million) share-swap in February with Goodwill Investment.
Last month the company hired Ryan Fong, a former trader at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, to write research reports on technology companies. In June it hired Pang Hiu Ming to head up a new unit that will focus on healthcare and biotechnology.
