ABN Amro has promoted Eddie Wong to the position of Asian Chief Economist for both equities and commercial banking. Previously, Wong was responsible for the bank's North Asian economic research, particularly Hong Kong and China.
"Eddie has been the backbone of our non-Japan Asia economics team. We are delighted that he will be able to extend his in-depth approach and high client profile more broadly," says Stewart Callaghan, Head of Asia Research at ABN Amro.
Wong has been with ABN Amro since 1996 and before that worked at Standard Chartered Securities and Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.
