SBI E2-Capital - the JV between E2-Capital and Softbank Investment International - has hired Edmond Eng to run the firm's greater China business. Eng's full title will Director and CEO of SBI E2-Capital China Holdings. He will run the firm's businesses in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and will be based in Hong Kong.
Eng has had a long and illustrious career in banking and invesment. He has worked with ABN Amro and ABN Amro Rothschild, Chase Manhattan and Morgan Stanley both in Hong Kong and New York. Most recently he has been running his own financial consultancy firm called Skytian Partners which has offices in Hong Kong and Los Angeles, providing advice and finance to companies looking to enter the China market.
SJ Wong, president and CEO of SBI E2 Capital Group notes that Eng's trans-Pacific working experience will make him a valuable addition. "Not only is he an expert of development trends within the financial services industry, but he also possesses a full understanding of both the China market and international affairs," Wong comments.
