Vasilopoulos is highly experienced in the funds area. She has more than 15 years of experience dealing with investment funds, hedge funds, real estate investment trusts and structured financial products and has been involved in some of the most groundbreaking deals in Asia recently.
She joins Sidley Austin from Johnson Stokes & Master where she was a consultant and head of the firm's international funds practice in Hong Kong. Prior to that she worked for leading Australian firm Blake Dawson Waldron in Sydney, also in the international funds department. She aims to globalize her practice through joining Sidley Austin, particularly in assisting US and European fund sponsor clients in accessing investment capital in the Asian markets
She says, "Given the increasing internationalization of these activities, the firm's US capabilities will enable me to expand my practice. At the same time, we can now offer a full range of funds expertise to our US and international clients looking to access Asian markets and investors."
