Baker & Mckenzie has joined the ranks of global law firms making high profile China hires, with the announcement that Jon Eichelberger will become a partner in its Beijing office. He returns to a practice he left in 2000.
He will specialize in business and tax law, mergers and acquisitions and other forms of direct investment and trade in China. He also brings PRC-related experience in the manufacturing, distribution, franchising, technology, pharmaceuticals and health care sectors.
The fluent mandarin speaker heads to the firm from Perkins Coie LLP where he was the managing partner for its Beijing office. Previously at Baker & McKenzie, Eichelberger was a partner in Beijing and has also held posts in the firm's Hong Kong and New York offices.
