Heidrick & Struggles has appointed Maggie Henderson-Tew and Kevin Yeung to its financial services practice in Hong Kong. Henderson-Tew will be a partner and will run the Hong Kong financial services team as well as the Asia-wide asset and wealth management practice. Yeung joins as a senior associate in the Hong Kong office.
Henderson-Tew brings 20 years of headhunting to her new role. Prior to joining Heidricks, she ran her own boutique firm in Hong Kong, having previously spent five years with Russell Reynolds Associates in London. She ran that firm's asset management practice and was an MD.
Before that she was a board director with Norman Broadbent group and ran that firm's UK financial services team. She started her career in sales and marketing with JPMorgan in London. She is one of four partners in the firm's Hong Kong office and replaces Deidre Kenney who was returned to Heidricks in London.
Yeung joins from Russell Reynolds in Hong Kong where he worked for the last five years.
Together the two will focus on the areas of asset management, capital markets, consumer banking, hedge funds, insurance and investment banking. They will also have a key brief to develop the work that the firm does for governments in the region. Given Heidrick's status as the largest search firm in the world, they aim to bank on that reach to be able to carry out global searches for prime candidates. Indeed according to recent research by recruiting industry tracking firm Hunt-Scanlon Advisors, in 2003 Heidrick & Struggles earned $318 million globally in retained fees making it the biggest search firm in the world.
