Phillip Georgiou has joined the realms of Jones Day in Hong Kong, with the international law firm appointing him as senior associate.
In gaining the signature of Georgiou, Jones Day procures the services of a lawyer who has provided specialist construction, engineering and project related legal advice to regional clients for the past 10 years. Over this time period, Georgiou's clients have included government bodies, statutory corporations, property developers, power companies, port operators, airlines, contractors, sub-contractors and consultants.
His experience also extends to alternative forms of dispute resolution having been involved in over 20 mediations in Hong Kong, the UK and Australia, as well as conciliations and expert determinations. In addition, Georgiou's expertise also includes advising upon, negotiating and drafting project documentation such as main contracts, sub-contracts, consultancy agreements, operation and maintenance agreements and joint venture/consortium arrangements.
Georgiou joins from Baker & McKenzie, where he had been an associate in the Hong Kong construction team since August 2000. He is admitted to practice in both Hong Kong and Victoria, Australia.
