JP Morgan has announced the promotion of Scott Seo to head of Korea equity research and strategist. In his new role, Seo will replace the recently departed SH Lee.
Seo will continue to lead the financials team in Korea and will incur the support of an analyst resources team, which will be formally announced at a later date. In a press release, JP Morgan explains that Seo's promotion will round out a comprehensive coverage model, which covers 15 individual sectors.
SEO joined JP Morgan from ABN AMRO in 2001 and brings over 10 years of experience as an equities analyst to his new position.
Jose M. Linares, CFA, head of Asia ex-Japan has expressed great confidence in the promotion. "Under Seo's leadership, I have every confidence that the Seoul team will continue to build on the strong momentum seen since the beginning of the year in Korea."
