JPMorgan appoints Katsuyuki Kuki to dual role

JPMorgan Securities Japan has named Katsuyuki Kuki as vice-chairman of investment banking and head of the financial institutions group.
Katsuyuki Kuki has been appointment as vice-chairman of investment banking and head of the financial institutions group at JPMorgan Securities in Japan. The appointment, which took effect on June 4, will strengthen the bank's relationship with financial institutions and enhance its investment banking capabilities, according to press release.

Kuki began his career at the Development Bank of Japan in 1983 before moving to Lehman Brothers and later UBS in Japan where he worked on a number of deals, including mega-bank equity capital finance, bank mergers, non-bank financing and mergers involving insurance companies, the press release continues.

Greg Guyett, the president and CEO of JPMorgan in Japan is quoted as saying that Kuki will ôlead in strengthening long-term and closer relationships with financial institutionsö.

Yuichi Jimbo, deputy president and head of investment banking of JPMorgan in Japan, said in the press release ôthat the investment banking department had been expanding its business in M&A advisory for Japanese firms, and financing in both domestic and international equity and debt capital markets.
