JPMorgan will further expand its regional oil and gas/petrochemicals coverage with the appointment of two new analysts. Apruva Choudhary and Thomas Wong will join the division, which according to JPMorgan completes its regional sectoral team.
Choudhary will make an internal transfer from the firm's investment banking division in Singapore. In his new research role he will focus on the Taiwan, Korea and regional petrochemicals sectors from Singapore, before relocating to Hong Kong at the end of the year.
Within the bank's Singapore-based investment banking group, Choudhary spent four years toning his skills in the IB petrochemicals team. He also brings hands-on expertise working with key petrochemical corporations to the new role.
Joining from BP in Hong Kong, Wong will cover the China oils and petrochemicals sector for JPMorgan. From September, Wong will report to the firm's Hong Kong office before relocating to Shanghai before year's end.
At BP Hong Kong he procured extensive sector experience in developing the company's Asian strategy and will undoubtedly draw on his broad contact network within the mainland.
Both new hires will report to Graham Cunningham, JPMorgan's head of oil and gas/petrochemicals equity research, who will be relocating from Taipei to Hong Kong in September.
