Standard Chartered has continued its ongoing Southeast Asia loan distribution exploits with the appointment of Imelda Laibahas to the team as an associate director. Based in Singapore, Standard Chartered describes Laibahas's appointment as consistent with its recent trend of further strengthening its global loan distribution capabilities and supporting the syndications business continued growth in the Southeast Asia region.
Laibahas heads to the bank from BNP Paribas where she has been a vice president in the asset restructuring group since 1998. In this role, she was responsible for corporate restructurings across the Southeast Asia region.
Upon arriving at Standard Chartered, Laibahas will report to Wolfgang Beckmann, head of distribution for Southeast Asia, who states in response to the hire, "our strong distribution capabilities form the cornerstone of our global syndications business and it enhances our ability to lead and underwrite transactions for our customers."
