International law firm Lovells has named two new partners, Gabriela Kennedy and Mark Lin. Both will be based in Hong Kong.
Kennedy, who specializes in information technology and telecommunications law, has been with the firm since 1994. Prior to the promotion, she was the firm's consultant and head of the technology, media and telecoms group in Hong Kong. Her expertise includes smart card projects, the regulation of encryption technology, data protection, software licensing, outsourcing, and disputes relating to mod-chips and anti-circumvention devices and regulatory and transactional telecommunications matters.
Lin, specializing in commercial litigation, has been a consultant at the firm since 2001. With extensive experience in corporate and financial disputes, he has dealt with a wide range of commercial disputes before the High Court and the Court of Appeal in Hong Kong and in China.
