Andrea Muller has been hired from UBS to assume the role as managing director and head of Fitch Ratings' Asia-Pacific business. In her new role, Muller takes on responsibility for direct management of Fitch offices in the Asia-Pacific region, which she will execute from Singapore.
Before joining the international ratings agency Muller held the position of managing director, head of Asian corporate marketing for UBS Global Asset Management. Within the UBS organisation she has also worked as head of UBS Investment Banking in Singapore and head of UBS Corporate Advisory in France.
Her resume also extends beyond the banking space to the legal world. She began her career as a lawyer for Shearman & Sterling and has practiced in both New York and Paris.
Muller takes over the position vacated by Bernard de Lattre, who internally transfers to a larger role in Fitch's European operations. de Lattre's new position requires him to assume responsibility for direct management of Fitch's offices in Frankfurt, Milan, Barcelona, Warsaw, Moscow, Istanbul, Tunis and Johannesburg.
Along with Muller, the heads of these offices will report directly to de Lattre, who will continue leading Fitch's Paris office. Under the reshuffle, Paul Taylor will maintain overall responsibility for the rating agency's European activities.
