Darryl Mueller has taken over the reins of Omgeo's Asian business following James Drumm's return to headquarters in Boston. Mueller will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for increasing the company's client base while working with regional depositories, exchanges and market infrastructure providers to encourage straight through processing (STP) of securities trading in Asia.
Mueller has spent time in Hong Kong before working with Thomson Financial's Technical Data and First Call divisions as general manager. He then moved on to hold a sales director role with CCBN, Corporate Communication Broadcast Network.
In his new role, he will be responsible for a region which represents 10% of Omgeo's business and where the company has been promoting straight through processing with its trade matching and reconsciliation products.
"I look forward to the challenging task of providing the right STP solutions to disparate markets and diverse client needs. Continuing to increase customer satisfaction will remain a key area of focus," says Mueller.
Drumm has returned to Boston to work on special projects, one of which includes developing a lighter Internet-based version of Omgeo's trade software for middle market fund managers.
