New bonds VP for Deutsche Bank

ING Barings loses debt capital markets director to Deutsche.

Deutsche Bank has appointed Ashish Malhotra as vice-president of bond/loan syndicate for global markets.

Malhotra will be responsible for both local currency and cross-border syndication of debt securities and loans in the non-Japan Asian region. He will report to Paul Smith, head of Asian bond/loan syndicate.

Malhotra was previously the director of debt capital markets at ING Barings in Hong Kong, a position he held for five years. He has also held several positions in both Hong Kong and Manila, covering primary debt origination and syndication as well as local currency and cross-border debt products throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

“We are very pleased to have Ashish join the syndicate desk to support the strong flow of local currency and cross-border financing opportunities being generated from the bank’s debt capital markets origination platform in Asia,” says Smith. “He will move our primary markets origination and underwriting activities to the next level in response to our clients’ needs.”
