New CEO for JPMorgan Japan

Gregory Guyett takes the job at JPMorgan Securities in Japan.
Gregory Guyett has been appointed president and CEO of JPMorgan Securities in Japan. The appointment follows a restructuring of senior management at the firm, with the CEO role being separated from the combined CEO and chairman title.

Takahiro Moriguchi has held this combined role up until now, and he retains the position of chairman, focusing on government relations and senior clients.

Guyett has an M&A background and the firm reportedly sees Japanese M&A as a fertile growth market. GuyettÆs role, according to one source at the bank, will be to improve the Japan office's connectivity with the rest of the Japan network.

Guyett joined JPMorgan in 1985 in New York. He reportedly speaks Japanese. Most recently, he was managing director and head of the global automotive investment banking group based in Chicago.

Guyett will report to Gaby Abdelnour, chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Asia-Pacific.
