Latham & Watkins has hired Min Yee Ng to its corporate team in Singapore in the position titled "of counsel". From March 1, she reports to Michael Sturrock, the Singapore-based partner and head of the corporate department for Singapore and Hong Kong.
Ng makes the voyage from Shearman & Sterling, where over five and a half years she was based in its Singapore and New York offices. During her Shearman & Sterling days, Ng worked on several deals including representation of STATS ChipPac in its $215 million high-yield debt offering and representation of the underwriter in connection with two convertible notes offerings aggregating US$375 million by Northwest Airlines Corporation.
Her corporate finance experience also extends to other US and international securities transactions, including IPOs, private placements of securities and global equity offerings. In addition, Ng's transactional experience covers a wide variety of sectors, including telecommunications, technology, banking, energy, transportation and healthcare.
According to Latham & Watkins, her appointment to the newly created position is part of the firm's strategic expansion in Asia, of which she is the fifth new member following the appointment of four associates to the team in the past year.
