Norton Rose has appointed China corporate finance specialist Julian Chung. He comes to the firm as a Hong Kong-based partner in the 33 strong corporate finance team.
Chung arrives from Perkins Coie where he was partner and brings the majority of his experience to Norton Rose from Slaughter and May and Chao and Chung, the boutique corporate finance practice he built up and was founding partner of.
Throughout his career, Chung's experience has included equity capital markets, M&A and private equity and a broad range of deals across numerous business sectors.
Chung now joins corporate finance partners David Stannard, Freeman Chan, Glenn Hall and Psyche Tai along with the existing team.
His appointment follows a fruitful year for the corporate finance team, which acted for Hong Leong on its $1.5 billion share acquisition and takeover offer of Guoco Group Limited, China Mengnui Dairy's IPO and China Shipping's IPO.
Grace Chan and Queenie Pang will follow Chung to Norton Rose from Perkins Coie as associates. Also joining the firm is paralegal Jackie Chung as well as trainees Mable Law and Pauline Woo.
