International law firm Paul Hastings has further signalled its commitment to Asia by announcing the appointment of Terry Garnett and Vincent Ko to the firm in Los Angeles. Both come on board as partners in its litigation practice and were formerly both co-heads of the IP litigation practice at Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan.
The firm is acquiring the services of two experienced lawyers who have both gained expertise focusing on the representation of Asian clients in major U.S. patent and other IP cases. The new hires also bring with them a team of five associates that consists of Sang Dang, Maxwell Fox, Peter Wied, Jay Chiu and Hua Chen.
"Paul Hastings is one of the few law firms that offers world-class IP litigation capabilities on both sides of the Pacific." says Jamie Wareham, chair of the Paul Hastings litigation department. "As Asian economies grow, and international IP disputes continue to move to the forefront, these two partners will assist our already strong global IP team to help clients adjust to the changing landscape. With our large presence in Asia, Paul Hastings is the natural home for two of the top IP attorneys with experience in that region."
