More than 100 executives in the Philippines joined us on June 23 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel in Manila to celebrate the winners of our annual Best Companies in Asia poll. We would like to thank local financial services firm, ATR KimEng, for sponsoring this event for the first time.
The awards were announced by our publisher Jonathan Hirst and presented by the three founding partners of ATR KimEng, Ramon Arnaiz, Manuel Tordesillas and Lorenzo Roxas.
Some of the winners included Ayala Corp, which was named best managed company and the company with the best corporate governance and corporate social responsibility. PLDT won the accolades for the company with the best investor relations and most committed to a strong dividend policy. Manila Water was named best mid-cap, and Alaska Milk won best small-cap.
Gerardo Ablaza from Ayala Corp made a keynote speech on behalf of all the awardees just before the end of the night, which concluded with a champagne toast from the founders of ATR KimEng.
