However, we also announced a couple of new awards on the night. Kookmin Bank was named the winner of our Best Bank in Asia award; this is an award which we determine using 12 financial metrics, as well as S&PÆs Bank Fundamental Strength Ratings (for more details on this award and the methodology see FinanceAsia magazine). We also announced our inaugural lifetime achievement award, which went to Public Bank of MalaysiaÆs Dato Tan Sir Teh Hong Piow (who unfortunately couldnÆt attend due to a slipped disc). Meanwhile Goldman Sachs convincingly won the eveningÆs trivia quiz û the fourth time in as many years that the US firm has been victorious in a quiz at one of our awards dinners.
