Societe Generale's corporate and investment banking arm, SG CIB, has lured Ibrahim Bin Nasir to the French group's Kuala Lumpur offices. Bin Nasir will join the firm as senior banker and chief representative for SG CIB in Malaysia.
He will take on the responsibility for SG CIB's business development and operational activities in the Malaysian market, which operate from both KL and Labuan. The French group's corporate and investment banking arm first entered the Malaysian landscape in 1984 and from its Labuan branch provides non-Ringgit offshore banking facilities and other financing and investment banking services.
SG CIB acquires an experienced banker that expands over 23 years. Over this time period, Bin Nasir has been employed by both domestic and international banks operating in Malaysia. Within this stretch he has worked in the Labuan office of Bank of America and in a similar capacity for Deutsche Bank.
In his new position, Bin Nasir will report to Eric Wormser, SG CIB's chief country officer for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
