Swiss Re has announced several changes at its Asia division management team. The changes are at the Asia division headquarters, at the Southeast Asia level and in Australia/New Zealand.
Robert Watts will become the new chief operating officer of the Asia division. He will be moving from Singapore where he was head of Southeast Asia to take up the post in Hong Kong. Watts will be responsible for all business units within the division. Before Watts' appointment the position was vacant. Joining Watts in Hong Kong will be Steven Jasek, who will become chief financial officer. Both Watts and Jasek will also join the division's strategic management team.
The new head of Southeast Asia will be Clarence Yeung. Yeung joined Swiss Re in 2000 to develop its alternative risk transfer business and he will continue in this role. In Australia, Keith Scott takes over as Head of Australia/ New Zealand, and head of its property and casualty group. Scott joined Swiss Re in April 1999 and was chief operating officer for Australia/ New Zealand.
All new appointments are effective immediately, with Watts and Jasek moving to Hong Kong some time in the first quarter.
