Salomon Smith Barney/ Citibank has appointed Clifford Tan as Director looking at the Asia Pacific region and Huang Yiping as Vice President looking at the China region. These two appointments are made in the Economic and Market Analysis (EMA) department of Salomon Smith Barney and Citibank. Tan will be based in Singapore and Huang in Hong Kong. With over 10 years' experience, Tan joins from Warburg Dillon Read in Sinagpore and previously he has been with the US Federal Reserve Board in Washington D.C., Bankers Trust in New York, and Wellington Management in Boston. Huang brings with him more than 13 years' experience in economic studies and research work before joining Salomon Smith Barney/ Citibank. He has advised numerous global institutions including the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the Organization for Economic and Co-Operation Development. "Both Cliff and Yiping combine excellent analytical ability with deep regional experience," said Donald Hanna, Managing Director and Head of the Asian Emerging Markets team in the EMA department at SSB/Citibank. "With them on board, our presence and operations in the region will be further strengthened."
