The boss of HSBC's regional cash management division, Lawrence Webb, continues his hiring spree by bringing Andrew Davis and Navin Gupta over from Citigroup.
Davis was appointed head of regional channel management at the end of March, responsible for the strategic direction and development of the bank's delivery channels for cash products. That includes the web-based platform HSBCnet and its host-to-host system HSBC Connect.
Already a Hong Kong resident, Davis was regional product manager for receivables at Citigroup before making the move to HSBC. Though he started with Citigroup in Australia where he oversaw the development of a regional B2B electronic invoicing solution during his six-year tenure there.
Before Citigroup, Davis worked as a product manager and consultant in the domestic Australian banking industry including 11 years with the State Bank of New South Wales. He also had a stint at Austrapay, a specialist provider of processing systems.
Navin Gupta started at HSBC on 1 April as head of regional programme management with oversight of strategic investment and development projects.
Gupta comes from Citigroup's San Francisco office where he was global regional manager of technology, media and telecommunications clients for the bank's transaction services business. He also worked for other Citigroup divisions including CLS settlement services and commercial cards.
Gupta joined Citi in 2001 as part of a management associated program after graduating from Thunderbird, American Graduate School of International Management.
