Ashley Wright has joined the international law firm Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy as a senior attorney in the global project finance practice. He will be based in the firm's Singapore office and will report to Gary Wigmore, the head of Milbank's Asian project finance practice and managing partner of the Singapore office.
Wright joins Milbank from Linklaters where he established the project finance division. Prior to Linklaters he worked for eight years as an in house counsel for BP, where he dealt with all manner of legal aspects of the global oil and gas business.
According to Wigmore, Wright will boost the firm's capabilities in the oil, gas, LNG, power and petrochemicals sectors both in Asia and in the Middle East and "will significantly add to our capabilities in developing and structuring sophisticated financings for our clients."
