Deutsche Bank (DB) Australia has hired Laura Fitzsimmons as the bank’s new head of fixed income and currencies (FIC) macro sales. Fitzsimmons will start from August in Sydney.
A DB spokesperson confirmed to FinanceAsia that the role is newly created. Matthew Yencken, head of institutional client group at DB Australia, said, in an internal memo seen by FA, that the appointment comes at an “ideal time” with the team looking to intensify its institutional clients' coverage in the Australian market.
Fitzsimmons joins from JP Morgan, where she most recently held a role as head of Australia rates sales for over four years, also in Sydney, after working as an executive director on the macro sales team at JP Morgan for over 12 years. Prior to these positions, she also held roles as sales trader at Mako Financial Markets Partnership and as analyst at Goldman Sachs, both in London.
DB Australia offers services in corporate banking, investment banking and asset management, through its subsidiary DWS. The bank has two offices located in Sydney and Melbourne, providing banking services to companies, governments, institutional investors, small and medium-sized businesses and private individuals across the country.
